Join us as we discuss the importance of rapport in working with our clients and the elements of “rapport as an intervention" which include being heard, secure attachment, therapeutic alliance, and clients telling their 'story'. Refreshments will be served.


About the Presenters:

Jeffery Guance, LCSW

Jeffrey Guance, LCSW is a Bronx, NY native from Dominican descent. He is the husband of a beautiful soul and the father to two evolving, pride evoking young daughters. Jeffrey is a Fordham University graduate (“Go Rams”) with Summa Cum Laude honors, and an inductee of multiple honor societies.

He received his BSW and MSW at Fordham, where he aspires to obtain a PHD in Social Work. Jeffrey is a licensed clinical social worker who has been blessed with the opportunity of practicing at Project Courage where he currently serves as the Director of Family Services. Along with his family work, he is an individual therapist, and IOP facilitator. He believes social work is a calling. He is grateful to have received the call, the honor, and the privilege to serve in the field."

This presentation is appropriate for: clinical professionals, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and social workers.

OBJECTIVES: In this Live Interactive In Person Workshop, you will be able to:

  1. List 2 benefits of rapport in the therapeutic relationship.

  2. List 2 barriers to establishing rapport with clients.

  3. Have an increased awareness of the importance/power of rapport.
