Join us for an intensive one-day workshop on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for mental health professionals. Led by an experienced DBT practitioner, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to incorporate DBT into your clinical practice. The workshop will cover the core principles of DBT, including emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1) Understand the theoretical framework and key principles of DBT, including its four components and their functions.
2) State knowledge of the skills needed to implement DBT in their clinical practice, including strategies for teaching clients the core skills of DBT, such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
3) Provide an overview of the evidence-based research supporting the effectiveness of DBT in treating a variety of mental health conditions, particularly borderline personality disorder, and to discuss the potential benefits and limitations of using DBT in clinical practice.
