Breaking Down Borderline

This workshop offers an in-depth exploration of the Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis, including its symptoms, causes, and the latest therapeutic approaches. Participants will gain valuable insights into effective communication techniques and practical strategies for successfully working with clients suffering from this complex disorder, ultimately fostering positive outcomes in their therapeutic practice.


Alexa Mulee, MA, LMHC, C-DBT is a licensed mental health clinician in the state of New York who specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, specifically in applying it to substance use disorders, eating disorders, and borderline personality disorder. She is the owner of Wise Mind Counseling, LLC where she provides weekly DBT groups and individual psychotherapy sessions.  


OBJECTIVES:

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1) State an in-depth understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder, including its diagnostic criteria, symptoms, and underlying causes to improve assessment and diagnosis.

2) Identify practical skills and techniques for effective communication and therapeutic interventions when working with clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.

3) Name recent research and evidence-based treatment approaches that promote positive therapeutic outcomes and enhance overall client well-being.
